Welcome to my online portfolio! I completed my Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology from Tulane University, New Orleans, LA in 2011. Then, I worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Psychology Department at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, in Biology and Exercise Science Departments at Syracuse University. Currently, I hold an Assistant Professor position in Kinesiology Department at California State San Marcos. Here, I teach numerous undergraduate level courses in kinesiology, motor learning and control, and movement pedagogy in addition to mentoring undergraduate and graduate students in research.

My research interests include sustainable integration of Augmented and Virtual Reality systems into motor and cognitive rehabilitation for the elderly population, with special focus on people with Parkinson's disease.

A professional dancer, I also use my expertise to teach both the young and the elderly, with a special focus on people with Parkinson’s disease. My current community outreach interests include dance interventions for people with Parkinson's disease. I was fortunate enough to combine my past research interests with my dance experience by leading the Moving Through Possibilities program, which aims to engage the community in movement and promote healthy aging. In 2016, I was honored to receive the prestigious Orange Circle Award for my program and the Tolley Award Fund for my research.
